At CapX, we believe all students should engage the world as a place of learning.
We facilitate meaningful and memorable experiences to learn, create, and build relationships outside of the classroom as part of the school day.
Students apply their learning and use their creativity to ensure lessons ‘stick,’ empowering them to use their education to pursue their real world goals.
CapX students graduate college- and career-ready with broad content knowledge, core expertise, and the technical skills to succeed throughout their personal, academic, and professional lives.
Our Approach
The CapX model is founded in four core design elements based on peer-reviewed research in adolescent development:
Shared Learning Outcomes
CapX partners with students and families to define stakeholder roles and responsibilities, as well as explicit and measurable learning outcomes.
Community-based Learning
CapX immerses students in active learning experiences two afternoons per week. These experiences are aligned to curricular content modules and academic standards.
Meaningful Projects
CapX students answer a driving question via a standards-aligned project rooted in sustained inquiry into a challenging problem.
Social Emotional Learning
CapX supports students in learning to be aware of and manage their emotions, as well as building positive relationships.
Our Services
Experience
Pop-up professional learning experiences for educators and school leaders. Aligned to the four CapX design elements, each 4-8 hour session provides participants with community learning experiences and instructional learning tools they can use in their own classrooms.
Engagement
As part of a year-long cohort learning model, educators and CapX co-create a community-based experience curriculum that aligns with existing academic goals. Educators will then apply and integrate the CapX design elements into their instructional practice.
School Partnership
Educators and school leaders reimagine the student learning experience by adopting the CapX design elements. CapX will integrate into the school environment, providing professional development, curriculum analysis, cultural readiness training, and an assessment profile for success.
